Review – Philips Hue Go – Portable lamp

In this post I will give my very own review of the Philips Hue Go – Portable Lamp.

Philips Hue Go

I got my very own Philips Hue Go (Version 1), portable lamp last Christmas. I must admit that it has already become one of my favorite Hue products. Like my other devices it can easily be controlled from a smartphone. It is also possible to control the device using the button on the back. Not only can you turn it on and off. You can also switch between different presets of colors and brightness. Another thing that makes the Hue Go product special, is that it has a battery that allows you to bring it around. If you need a little light in the garden a warm summer evening, you can simply just unplug it from power and bring it outside.

Design of Philips Hue Go

Beautiful design is of cause a matter of taste and preferences, but in my eyes, the Hue Go lamp have a great design and can light up most living rooms. The lamp Can either be point directly up in the air or it can be tilted 45 decrees. If you prefer you can point it to light up against a wall, making it give a nice indirect light. Like other Philips Hue products, you can pick a light from a range of 30 million colors or you can choose one of the predefined color Scenes in the app.

The Hue Go lamp, can be operated by either your phone (Philips Hue App) or by the button under the lamp.  A short press on the button will switch between the seven different light effects. If you tap and hold the button it will fade through colors. When you see the color you like, simple release the button again. To turn off the lamp, press and hold the button for like 3 sec.
